MICHAEL P. KENNEY has been in private intellectual property practice, with a patent law concentration, for fifteen years. Michael contributes results oriented counseling regarding IP issues, focusing on value development and exploiting IP rights to their fullest potential. These goals are primarily achieved through IP procurement, licensing, litigation and due diligence. Throughout his career Michael has consistently been able to practice a mix of these disparate skill sets, thus enabling him to see the big picture in not merely protecting his client’s IP rights but proactively advancing these rights.
Michael's practice has involved many areas, with particular emphasis on medical devices, biotechnology, consumer electronics and web based services. Regarding medical devices, he has worked extensively in both diagnostic and therapeutic products in several technical fields, including interventional diabetes treatment, imaging, general surgery, peripheral access tools and drug delivery.
Michael holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and recently completed his MS in Biomedical Engineering from the NYU-Poly. A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Michael is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
